The Chartered Institute of Internal Auditors (Chartered IIA) represents the profession of internal auditing, delivering qualifications, training and other services. It plays a critical policy and influencing role, representing its 10,000 members to regulators, government and the media and is part of a global community of 180,000 members in 190 countries.
This is an exciting time to join the Chartered IIA as it enters the next critical stage in its development, having recently undergone a significant programme of transformation to restructure the organisation, put in place key efficiency initiatives and embed a culture of customer excellence and high performance.
The new Chief Executive will work with the President and Council of Directors to formulate and review the Chartered IIA’s mission, strategic objectives and annual plans, driving continued growth, diversification of its income streams and the expansion of its offering beyond the core professional membership services, as well as servicing the needs of existing members. Maintaining and continuing to promote Chartered IIA’s voice and influence nationally and internationally, with UK government, the profession and with the Global IIA, will be a particular area of focus and our new Chief Executive will ensure that strong operational business plans are in place to support and deliver this.
An inspiring leader, with outstanding communication skills, you will drive a culture of collaboration and engagement and embody the purpose and values of the Chartered IIA. You will be a serving Chief Executive, or an experienced executive level leader, with a significant track record of operating and influencing at executive board level in a complex organisation. You will have demonstrable commercial and financial oversight skills, together with experience of delivering sustainable business performance, transformational organisational and culture change and continuous improvement. An understanding of the value and impact of internal audit on organisations is critical to this appointment and our new Chief Executive will have a proven track record of leading, motivating and developing high-performing diverse teams. You will be committed to the Chartered IIA’s purpose and vision and will play a critical ambassadorial role in promoting its impact and influence, working effectively with our many varied stakeholders.
Politically astute, you will be a visible and motivating leader, exercising diplomacy and sensitivity when required yet willing to challenge the status quo when needed. Your integrity, standing and judgement will inspire confidence in the Chartered IIA and its work, enabling it to hold the respect of a demanding and rapidly changing sector and profession.
