Community Resource is the new name for the Shropshire Rural Communities Charity. We are committed to making life better for people and communities facing challenges in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin.
We have been supporting our local communities for over 60 years and deliver this work across three main themes; Wellbeing & Care, Community & Support and Funding & Advice. Our support means that people across the county can maintain independence, be healthy and develop and sustain strong resilient communities.
Over the course of the pandemic we have been highly agile, best evidenced by our ability to play a significant role in coordinating over 900 volunteers to support the regional delivery of Covid vaccinations.
We have invested in our team by creating two new senior positions in marketing and fund-raising. In 2021 we successfully launched our new brand to a favourable reaction.
We believe that with our new brand, and a general renewed emphasis on people building a sense of community in society that we are well placed to grow and further enhance our ability to support our communities.
Whilst we benefit from a strong position currently, the future isn’t without challenge. Securing funding currently is highly competitive. We cover a broad portfolio of activities across a large and dispersed region. We also expect that many people in our community will face significant challenges to meet the growing cost of living.
We want to respond to those challenges by being creative, responding to the ever-changing needs of our communities and growing our digital and technological capacities.
We are looking for an inspirational leader who will be able to role model inclusive values, work collaboratively with partners and stakeholders and help us grow in line with our core themes (Wellbeing & Care, Community & Support, Funding & Advice).
Experiences of leading change, developing strategy and transforming this into deliverable operational plans, working in partnership and articulating impact will all be essential in this position.
