The CEO will provide oversight for PROPS North East specialist family and carer services for families affected by the use of alcohol and other drugs. The job holder will have a broad remit to ascertain the most appropriate operating model needed to support the charity. They will ensure the delivery of PROPS North East business’s overall vision and strategy.
This work contributes to the PROPS North East vision of working towards sustainable whole family recovery.
This post is specific to ensure the Charity’s aims and objectives are achieved in line with the Board of
Trustees direction in order to deliver services to families across Newcastle and North Tyneside who are impacted by and experience substance misuse within their families.
Duties are not exclusive. Duties will be reviewed and revised where necessary.
STRATEGIC DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY
The role will provide activities key to strategic development and delivery including but not limited to:
Leadership and management, governance, direct report to the Board of Trustees, commissioners and stakeholders in the aims and objectives of the charity.

Day-to-day risk management responsibility is delegated to the heads of each function or team. In implementing a sound system of internal controls, the head of each function or team is the first line of defence risk owner and is expected to:

To carry out responsibilities with clear regard to PROPS North East Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, and other relevant employee focused policies and procedures.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING/ PERSON SPECIFICATION
Knowledge and understanding of issues relating to equality and diversity issues and an understanding of how they integrate with service provision for drug and alcohol users and their families.
Conditions of Service
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week (excluding lunch breaks), normally worked over 5 days Monday to Friday – flexible working negotiable.
Place of Work: Hybrid working between PROPS NE main office in North Shields/Fenham Library and homeworking.
Annual Leave: 25 days per annum, rising to 28 days per annum after 2 years’ service, plus 8 days Public Holidays.
Life Assurance: 3 x annual salary.
