The Coroners’ Courts Support Service (CCSS) is an independent voluntary organisation whose trained volunteers offer emotional support and practical help to bereaved families, witnesses and others attending an Inquest at a Coroner’s Court. Currently available in half of the Coroners’ Courts, their vision is to set up the Service in all of the Coroners’ Courts within England and Wales to ensure bereaved families, witnesses and others have access to the Service wherever they attend an Inquest.
The CCSS are now seeking to appoint an exceptional person to join their charity as Chief Executive Officer to lead their unique organisation through a stage of considerable change and growth.
The successful candidate will lead the day-to-day management of the charity, working with a brilliant small staff and volunteer team whilst reporting into the Board. Together with the Board of Trustees, you’ll set the strategic direction of the charity and be responsible for implementing an ambitious plan to achieve its goals.
You will need to be a highly skilled communicator, able to engage with staff and multiple stakeholders and possess clear organisational expertise. Commitment to the CCSS mission and values and demonstratable, financial, fundraising, leadership and management skills particularly through change and growth is also essential.
