Chief Executive Officer Full Time

Peterborough Council for Voluntary Services (PCVS) Board of Trustees is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive to help shape and take the organisation forward at a time of change. They will work with our key stakeholders collaboratively and offer leadership and vision to the local voluntary sector.

PCVS is positioned well to underpin the foundations of the voluntary sector as we emerge from the pandemic into a new era characterised by uncertainty and financial hardship. PCVS stands to act as a broker between the voluntary sector and statutory and private bodies, to bring together partners from across the voluntary and community sector, and to champion and support grassroots community action.

The new CEO will join at an exciting time of transition where their input will be crucial in taking forward development and implementation of PCVS’s new strategy, and ensuring that learning from this process is harnessed and fed back into the organisation.

Crucial to success will be positioning PCVS as a supportive player in the local ‘economy’, and a readiness to flex and adapt tried and tested approaches in order to respond to new and emergent needs. Building relationships across the community, voluntary and business sector to embed the value of sector/PCVS will be important, as is a capacity to identify opportunities, and drive forwards innovations.

The successful candidate will bring a passion and vision for enriching the local voluntary sector, supporting those most at risk, and championing equalities and social justice causes in Peterborough.
