Just Hot Tubs is a fast-growing retailer, installer and repairer of hot tubs. Established in 2003 and based in Exeter, it has an enviable reputation for quality and customer service.
It has recently been backed by a combination of three highly successful professional investors who specialise in supporting fast growth businesses and two operators, each with over 20 years experience in the wet leisure industry.
They have come together to use the Company as their vehicle to consolidate the highly fragmented UK hot tub market and become the UK leader.
OPPORTUNITY
The Company requires a dynamic leader to guide it through this rapid expansion and to strategically position it as the market leader.
ROLE
Title: Chief Executive Officer
Location: Exeter and Swindon
Remuneration: £100k – £120k plus equity/options
Reports to: Board of Directors
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Successful execution of the Company’s growth strategy
- Linking the Company’s processes to further improve customer experience
- Harnessing the latest SaaS offerings to drive the business forwards
- Lead all third party contract negotiations
- Working with the Board to develop future strategy
- Reporting to the Board on all aspects of the business
- Managing cash
- Managing and providing support to the Company’s employees
- Hiring employees
- Growing aftersales revenue streams
- Reviewing the product range and procuring hot tubs from suppliers
- Working with the Head of Engineering to develop (and ensuring compliance) with installation and repair process / best practice
- Ensuring the Company is compliant with Health and Safety regulations

- Energetic, hands on attitude – has to be self-motivated with a natural disposition to take action and get things done
- Flexibility – the Company is a small business and therefore each employee wears many hats from strategic thinking to helping unload deliveries and making coffee
- Delegator – needs to be able to delegate efficiently to avoid being swamped by the detail. Has to be committed to building and empowering a market leading team around them
- Strength of character – has to be confident enough to invite, accept and process challenges to their opinion from both the Board and other third parties
- Pragmatic – needs to develop solutions that actually work and are used within the business as opposed to aiming for conceptual perfection
- Empathy – managing employees, customers and suppliers is a key part of this role

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
- Worked in a small business environment during a period of rapid growth
- Be used to working remotely from (and reporting to) external stakeholders
- Have delivered demonstrable value to stakeholders in a B2C business
- Have successfully executed an online marketing strategy
- Have had full P&L responsibility
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of the UK wet leisure market
- Worked for professional investors
- Worked in a B2C delivery/installation business
