Job description

We are searching for an exceptional leader to join our company in the role of CEO (Chief Executive Officer) as the company is planning to relocate all its head office functions to the UK, and to expand the brand’s global footprint. The CEO will be responsible for creating, planning, implementing and integrating the strategic direction of Darrenn Group, as well to ensure that the firm’s leadership maintains a constant awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape, opportunities for expansion, customer base, markets, new industry developments and standards.

The CEO will also work closely with the Board of Directors, serving as managing director of corporate operations and as the main link between the different divisions within the company.

The ideal candidate for this position has previous corporate management experience and a proven track record for effective team management and results-driven leadership.

Responsibility of the role includes but not limited to:

· Direct the company in keeping with the vision outlined for the company by the Board of Directors

  • Lead the development of the company’s short- and long-term strategy

· Partner with high-level officers worldwide to grow the company, strengthen it and ensure its sustainability

· Represent the company as required, including attendance of important functions, industry events and public meetings

  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing, and advise the Board of Directors with regard to investment risk and return
  • Work closely with the human resource department to ensure great hiring

· Oversee quality control throughout the company, establishing goals for each department in partnership with division managers

· Assume overall responsibility and accountability for firm-wide operations including revenue and profit goals and all design practices, design responses, and opportunities

· Represent the company for civic and professional association responsibilities and activities in the local community, the state, and at the national level

· Look at potential acquisitions or the sale of the company under circumstances that will enhance shareholder value

  • Communicate, on behalf of the company, with shareholders, government entities, and the public
  • Assure all legal and regulatory documents are filed and monitor compliance with laws and regulations

· Build a positive and productive culture in the workplace by listening to employee opinions, making adjustments, and recognising the team’s accomplishments

· Keep up with current trends in the industry and modern business practices

Required experience and qualification of the role:

· Preferably have 20+ years of combined practice and executive leadership experience in the exceptional architecture or design firms

· Demonstrated track record of success in implementing strategic operational concepts to improve design, project quality, and financial performance

  • Knowledge of profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow management, and general finance and budgeting

· Prior experience building, leading, and coaching a team of operations and design professionals in a multi-office environment

· Must have excellent operational and financial management skills with a strong understanding of profit drivers

· Exceptional executive presence with a strong understanding and ability to manage multiple complex business issues. Recognised as a key advisor for leadership and capable of setting strategic direction and executing action plans

· Bilingual speaker who can fluently communicate in both English and Mandarin Chinese. Desirable to be familiar with Chinese culture and business etiquette, as well Chinese consumers

  • A minimum bachelor’s degree relating to architecture design and urban planning required, preferably with the relevant professional qualifications, an EMBA from a world leading business school would also be beneficial

· Desire and willingness to frequently travel within the UK and abroad as per the needs of the business

Remuneration

· Salary: £70K – £80K per annum

· Performance-based bonus
