Dedicate Recruitment is proud to be partnering with the Birmingham Diocesan Multi Academy Trust (BDMAT) in the search for an inspiring and nurturing Deputy CEO.
Originally formed in 2017 with six primary schools, BDMAT is now one of the largest trusts in the West Midlands with 18 primary schools and a secondary school, across three local authorities. Ofsted recently undertook a MAT summary which reflected that it is a “strong and successful Trust, and the Trusts’ values and ethos are clearly reflected within each of the schools”.
With a strong Christian framework at its heart, their aim is to support schools who wish to join the Trust, particularly within the most disadvantaged areas of Birmingham.
To support the next stage of this strategic plan, the newly created role of Deputy CEO will work closely with the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team, leading not only on the organisational development but on finance and operations across the Trust.
As a member of the Executive team, you will have proven leadership experience across finance, responsible for a budget of £26M. You will work centrally to lead a team of 12 staff for the BDMAT team, managing risk, monitoring finances across all schools and supporting the Trust in proposing ‘Best Value’ plans on cost savings.
You will support the CEO in developing and driving through the Trusts strategic plan and ensure the financial sustainability of the Trust during its growth, co – ordinating specified central services functions, such as facilities, Health & Safety and IT.
The successful candidate will hold a full accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with a minimum of five years’ experience of a senior leadership role, ideally within education or has led in a public sector finance environment. You will be a strong leader, with a track record in managing a range of operational teams, be confident in understanding statutory financial regulations and can evidence how you have made a difference in implementing strategies.
The Trust is seeking an individual who is able to combine humility with determination, who seeks to leave a legacy of success through their passion and commitment in sharing and executing the vision and values of the Trust.
