The newly created Red Lion Holdings was established to invest in high quality boutique pub groups allowing them to accelerate their growth and fulfil their brand potential.

Having completed recent investments in Red Mist Leisure and Grosvenor Pubs & Inns, a combined collection of 16 sites, Red Lion is looking to appoint a dynamic, hands on Managing Director to lead the Grosvenor brand through an ambitious and exciting growth plan delivering the highest quality premium coaching inn experience to our guests.

Role and Responsibilities

Key objectives

·The Grosvenor brand is all about delivering best in class letting rooms, and food and beverage experience to our customers. Understanding and development of this premium brand is key to consistently delivering high quality operational standards

·Leading an ambitious strategy for growth. We aim to expand Grosvenor from 4 sites to 10 plus sites in the next 3 – 4 years and this will create significant pressure on the operational teams. Strong and calm leadership is required to manage this growth and bring new sites on board in a successful and timely manner.

·Development of key team members in the Grosvenor business ensuring they are engaged, motivated, happy and developing as individuals in their respective roles

·Working with the Red Lion board and COO to identify acquisition opportunities compiling the necessary business plans and investment proposals to ensure board level understanding and approval

·Oversee critical capital projects and expenditure to ensure all works are fully compliant with company policies and projects are delivered in line with the Grosvenor brand and ethos.

·Be the face of the Grosvenor business, provide energy, leadership, fun and motivation to all staff and management

·Identify, understand and achieve key performance indicators for the Grosvenor business so we can monitor performance and progress in all areas of the business

·Work with the leadership team in the wider Red Lion business to ensure we have effective strategies in place in all areas to assist us in achieving high operational standards and growth through both like for like increases and new acquisitions

·Introduce a visible and incentivised sales culture that celebrates success and motivates team members to over deliver revenue targets

·Full compliance of all food hygiene and health and safety matters within the Grosvenor business

·Works with the COO and Head of Marketing to implement and deliver a loyalty programme and relevant offers and incentives

·Attend all key meetings with other company executive and board members

·To provide the requested budgeted and forecasted information to the Finance team on a regular basis in line with their expectations

·Provide regular and structured communications to the COO and Red Lion board to report revenues and key information

·Calm, dependable and thoughtful individual who thrives on a high paced and energetic environment

·Well organised and methodical person who can prioritise key tasks, delegates where appropriate and is not overwhelmed by a sizable work load

·Must possess the necessary director level experience and skills with a track record of delivering premium hospitality standards and exceptional commercial results

·In tune with the market and understands the external factors that influence business performance

·Gets excited about running multiple projects and parallel project streams – the busier the better with a distinct focus on working smarter not harder and adds personality to any company environment

·To be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of trends and how they will affect the business

·Excellent communication skills, loves coaching colleagues to grow and develop and thrives on their success

·Understands the importance of a happy and helpful culture, reinforces the business values leading by example at all times

·Recognises the importance of attention to detail, doesn’t make rash decision but takes time to digest the small print, capable of making big decisions when they are required

·Knows how to deliver growth by motivating and energising teams so everyone is bought in to achieving the best possible results.

Management and Compliance

·To attend all staff and management meetings and training sessions as and when required

·Encourage growth and development of the Grosvenor teams, promoting staff engagement, personal development and retention

·To be responsible for all elements of GDPR compliance within the Grosvenor business

·To understand all health and safety legislation and company policies ensuring the highest standards and compliance across the business

·To ensure all brand / promotional material for internal and external use is professional, legally compliant and in line with brand and company guidelines

·To ensure all company procedures and policies are understood and practised by all team members
